We may only be in the dog days of summer – but I am excited for the fall and everything that it brings! Cooler temperatures, crisp leaves, and apple flavors galore!
Pumpkin spice may be the trendiest thing – but in my opinion – apple reigns supreme.
Though, I do love Twinings of London’s Pumpkin Spice Chai Tea. One of my favorite tea flavors!

Apple Muffins Recipe
Ingredients
Muffins
- 1½ C all-purpose flour
- ½ C granulated sugar
- 2 tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp cinnamon
- ½ tsp salt
- ¼ C shortening
- 1 large egg
- ½ C milk
- ½ C cored, pared, and grated tart apple*
Toppings
- ⅓ C brown sugar
- ⅓ C pecans, chopped
- ½ tsp cinnamon
Instructions
Muffin
- Sift together the dry ingredients
- Cut in shortening
- Mix in apples. Then add milk and egg
- Completely mix together and then pour into prepared muffin/cupcake tin. Fill each section ⅔rds full
- Mix together topping ingredients. Sprinkle over muffin mix
- Bake at 375° approimately 25 - 30 minutes
Notes
*These instructions said "grated tarted pared" apples. I think it would be best if they were pealed, cored, and then grated.
