Looking at a recipe that calls for nutmeat or nut meats, and you’re confused? Same. Same.

When I was first confronted with a recipe such as this, I was thoroughly confused. I assumed it was just any type of nut that I wanted to put in the recipe, but my mind imagined a canned version of some awful concoction of shelled, mashed, and cooked nuts.

Does that exist? I don’t know. It could.

But, nutmeat is the edible part of any type of nut. So, the edible kernel of the nut.
