Anything made with persimmon just sounds fun to me! It’s such a fun, and – in my opinion – vintage word and ingredient.
Have you tried or made persimmon pudding? Have you ever had persimmon? I’d love to hear about it in the comments below!

- ¼ tsp cloves
- flour (amount not given. Only states "for batter like cake dough". )* See my notes
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°
- Prepare square baking dish (If you double the recipe, use 9x13. Some people also use round cake pans)
- Mix together persimmon pulp, egg, salt, and sugar. Beat well
- Mix in remaining ingredients
- Bake approximately 1 hour
Notes
*In all of my research, it looks like the amount of flour can be unique to the consistency you prefer. I suggest using up to a cup of all-purpose-flour. Slowly add until you reach the consistency you want.
