Cake Batter
- A box of vanilla cake mix
- 1 Cup water
- 1/2 Cup oil or melted cooled butter
- 3 large eggs
- 3 Tbsp sour cream
Pecan Topping
- 1/2 Cup brown sugar
- 1/4 Cup corn syrup
- 1/2 Cup melted butter
- 1 Cup chopped pecans
- A pinch of salt
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees Farenheit
- In large bowl, beat butter, brown sugar, corn syrup, and salt until all sugar has dissolved
- Stir in pecans
- In a separate bowl, combine cake mix, butter, water, sour cream, and eggs with a mixer or whisk until smooth
- Prepare a 10-inch bundt pan with butter, oil, or spray
- Pour sugar and pecan mixture into bundt pan
- Pour cake batter over the pecans
- Spread evenly
- Bake approximately 45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean
- Remove from oven, and place on a rack to cool
- Do not flp pan until cooled at least 10 minutes
- Place a serving plate or cutting board on top of bundt pan, and flip pan over - allowing cake to slide out onto the plate or board
- To loosen pecans, tapping the bottom of the bundt pan may help
