How to Make Country Fried Chicken
Equipment
Ingredients
- ½ Cup milk
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 1 Cup all-purpose flour
- 2 tsps garlic salt
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp pepper
- ¼ tsp poultry seasoning
- 1 2 ½ - 3 lb fryer/boiler chicken, cut up (or equivalent size package of fresh cut chicken)
- oil for frying
Instructions
- In large bowl, mix milk, and egg
- In separate bowl, sift flour, garlic salt, paprika, pepper, and poultry seasoning. Mix well
- Dredge chicken, piece by piece through flour mix
- Then dip into milk mixture
- Dredge through flour mixture again
- In large skillet, pour in ¾ inch of oil and heat to 365°
- Place chicken in hot oil, cooking until brown
- Reduce heat to 275°
- Continute to cook, uncovered, approximately 25 minutes
- Chicken is done when its internal temperature is 165°
- Remove from oil with tongs, and drain on rack or paper towels
