How to Make Country Fried Chicken

Country Fried Chicken

Prep Time 30 minutes
Cook Time 45 minutes
Total Time 1 hour 15 minutes
Servings 4 servings



  • In large bowl, mix milk, and egg
  • In separate bowl, sift flour, garlic salt, paprika, pepper, and poultry seasoning. Mix well
  • Dredge chicken, piece by piece through flour mix
  • Then dip into milk mixture
  • Dredge through flour mixture again
  • In large skillet, pour in ¾ inch of oil and heat to 365°
  • Place chicken in hot oil, cooking until brown
  • Reduce heat to 275°
  • Continute to cook, uncovered, approximately 25 minutes
  • Chicken is done when its internal temperature is 165°
  • Remove from oil with tongs, and drain on rack or paper towels
