How to Make Skillet Chicken Fajitas Recipe
Skillet Chicken Fajitas
- 1 lb chicken breast thinly sliced
- 1 large bell pepper thinly sliced
- 1 large red bell pepper thinly sliced
- 1 large yellow bell pepper thinly sliced
- 1 small yellow onion thinly sliced
- 1 tsp garlic salt
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 2 tsp chili powder
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 1/2 tsp sugar
- 1/4 tsp cumin
- 1/4 tsp crushed red pepper
- 1/8 tsp cayenne pepper
- 2 Tbsp oil for cooking
- Additional toppings: sour cream and guacamole sauce
- In large bowl, mix together onion powder, chili powder, garlic salt, paprika, sugar, cupin, crushed red pepper, and cayenne pepper
- Add chicken slices, and mix
- Set aside
- Over a medium heat, warm cast iron skillet
- Add 1 Tbsp oil, once warmed then add onion and bell peppers. Saute 10 minutes
- When tender, remove from skillet and set aside
- Add remaining oil and cook chicken until no longer pink. Approximately 7 minutes
- Stir in bell pepper mix
- Simmer approximately 3 minutes
- Serve with warmed tortillas and top with shredded fiesta-style cheese blend
