hot water

brown sugar

granulated sugar

shortening

eggs
Topping

shredded coconut

pecans, shopped

heavy whipping cream

Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°
In medium size bowl, soak oats in water for 20 minutes
In separate bowl, sift together the flour, salt, baking soda, and cinnamon
In separate bowl, beat sugars and shortening
Beat in eggs one at a time. Mix until fluffy
Add oatmeal and combine
Stir in dry ingredients
Pour into prepared 9x13 cake pan and bake approximately 35 minutes
Topping
In bowl, beat together the butter and cream
Mix in vanilla then brown sugar
Combine thoroughly
Stir in coconut and pecans
Broil Cake
While the cake is still hot, spread topping over top
Place cake under broiler until bubbly
