Preheat oven to 300°
Boil water. Remove from heat, and place raisins in the water. Set aside for now.
In large bowl, cream the brown sugar and butter until creamy. Slowly mix in eggs. Then add apple sauce. Combine thorughly
Sift he flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves. Combine with wet ingredients
Drain raisins. Pat dry. Add to cake batter and stir
Pour into a well greased 9x13 baking pan. (or use two 8-inch cake rounds)
Bake apporiximately 1 hour 30 minutes for 9x13 baking pan. ( Begin checking cake rounds at 45 minutes)
