So, my mother-in-law gave me this Nestle Toll House Chocolate Chip Pan Cookie Bar recipe in a recipe book that I asked her to make for me. (A collection of foods, and dishes that Dan grew up loving)

I messed up the recipe the very first time I made it – but enjoyed the way it came out slightly different than her version of the classic cookie bar.

Her recipe is basically the original NESTLÉ® TOLL HOUSE® Chocolate Chip Pan Cookie Bar recipe – with the deduction of the chopped nuts and amount of flour.

I will list my “mess up” Chocolate Chip Pan Cookie Bar recipe below, the recipe she gave me, as well as the original Nestle Pan Cookie Bar recipe. Mine creates a slightly fluffier bar.

Note: My version of Toll House pan cookies uses a smaller baking pan – which will make the cookie bar different than the other two versions listed.

How do you know when a cookie bar is done?

For a cookie bar that is more cake-like, an inserted wooden tooth pick will come out with a few moist crumbs. A chewy bar will have a dull surface appearance rather than a more shiny surface.

How long do cookie bars stay fresh?

Cookie bars can be kept in a container at room temperature for 2 – 3 weeks. Up to two months in the refrigerator. Eight months to a year in a freezer.
